FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

What are your rates?
My rates are listed on the services I offer.

Can I upload my music and pay for services on this website?
Unfortunately no. I’m a one man show and I don’t want to create a back log of projects. I communicate with my clients directly before taking on a project. This insures the best quality product and turn around time.

How do I Pay for your services?
I will send you an invoice for the services requested. Payment will be made through Venmo or PayPal. A nonrefundable deposit of half the total price will be needed before I start any work on your project. The remaining balance must be paid in full to receive your final versions.
Under certain circumstances payment in full will be required before any work starts.

How do I deliver my music to you?
You digitally send me your project and I work on it. Google Drive and WeTransfer are both great free options to send files

What format should I deliver my song for mastering?
At least a 16 bit, 44.1 khz wave file. Don’t try to upsample or downsample from the original bounced file format.
The highest quality is always welcomed.

What format should I submit my song for mixing? What software do you use?
I use Logic Pro mostly. I do have Pro Tools and Studio One as well. If you start mixing your song before you send it to me please only use stock plug-ins that come with the software. This way it’s easy for me to pick up where you left off. You can also send me stems or separate bounced tracks. AAF or OMF files are options as well. If you want to send a DAW session make sure you send the whole file folder with all data.

How long does it take to complete my project?
Most mastering jobs will be completed within 48 hours. This is a per song time frame. Multiple songs will take longer. Mixing projects will take at least 48 to 72 hours to complete. Some projects will take longer. I’ll try my best to communicate with you about time frames.
(Sometimes I have several projects waiting so there might be delays)

Do you offer song revisions?
Yes. 2 revisions per Mastering project and 2 revisions per mix project. My goal is to make your music sound great. Additional revisions will be charged a fee. Any revisions requested after project is fully paid and completed will be charged a fee.

How is my finished product delivered?
I’ll deliver your final product digitally with a download link. Files will be delivered as a 44.1 khz, 16 bit wave file along with a high quality mp3. Other resolutions can be provided, please contact me for details.

Do you offer attended sessions?
Not at this time. I work out of a private location. We can set up a video call so you can see and hear part of the session. Video call needs to be scheduled upon availability. The video call is sometimes a better option than a attended session. This gives you a chance to hear your music in a environment you’re familiar with.

Do you use analog gear for mixing and mastering?
I use a hybrid method. Plug-ins and outboard gear are used together. Sometimes a song only needs software and sometimes it will benefit from using analog gear. There’s just a little extra magic that outboard gear adds and it’s worth it! Analog Master buss processing is used during mixing and sometimes I use analog subgroup processing. During Mastering I almost always use some kind of analog gear including EQ and compression.

How loud should the songs be I submit for Mastering?
The most import thing is not having the top of your waveforms chopped off. Try not to over compress or over limit your song. Get it to sound the closest to what you want at the mixing step, it’s your sound. Mastering takes it a step further and enhances the sonics that are already there.
Recommended level is less than -14 LUFs or less than -12 dbfs RMS.

How loud are your Masters?
Our completed masters are between -11 LUFS and -8 LUFS. This all depends on the music that’s been submitted. Sound quality is most important followed by loudness. Let us know if you have a specific level you’d like your music at. Please contact us if you have more questions.

Do you edit, extend, or do creative alterations to the songs you mix?
No. Mixing is adjusting the levels of the tracks that are there in a specific place when submitted. Moving vocals around, extending a chorus, drop outs, and such are a part of song writing and editing. That is a different service I offer at a additional cost added to the mixing rate. In other words, submit your song for mixing as it should be in finished form.

Do you offer recording?
No. I don’t have a open to the public location at this time. I can offer my services as a engineer at a different studio.
